How do I connect a Stripe account?To watch how to connect/set up a Stripe account for your campaign this see this video or follow the instructions below. 1) Connect a Stripe account to your campaign by visiting the campaign's dashboard. Go to Setup > Payments and click the green button. 2) This will take you to Stripe where you can choose to either connect an existing account or apply for an account. 3) Once your Stripe account has been set up go back to Setup > Payments, search and select your Stripe account to connect it to your campaign.

How does credit card pre-authorization work?Available with which pricing options Credit Card pre-authorizaton is available with the Fixed Fee pricing option. It is not included in the Voluntary Contribution Option. Where to Enable it It can be enabled at Setup > Payments. How it works Enable pre-authorizaion if you wish participants to be required to enter credit card details before placing a bid in an auction. Note that credit cards are not automatically charged at the close of the auction.

How can I add a fee/service fee to cover transaction costs etc?A fee can be added to participants' invoices via the GalaBid platform to cover costs incurred by the campaign. It can be used to cover transaction fees charged by Stripe or any costs incurred. For example, a 4.9% fee could be set up to cover the cost the cost to use GalaBid on Fixed Fee campaigns. The fee can be set up as mandatory or optional. The participant sees the fee during the checkout process.

What should I include on the participants' invoice/receipt template?Edit and preview the invoice that is sent by GalaBid to campaign participants at Setup > Tax/ Invoicing Include a logo, the name of the individual or the organization collecting payments on the campaign, and contact details including an an email address etc for queries. Note that as payments are made the invoice is updated showing any outstanding amount. Once the invoice is shown as fully paid it also serves as a receipt.

How do I send payment reminders?Individual Reminders Click Checkout Console section in the side menu. Search the participant's name. On the far right of the screen in the Payment Status Column click Send Reminder. This sends a reminder to the individual. Bulk Reminders In the Checkout Console Click the green button in the top right of the screen "Send Payment Reminders". This will send reminder to all participants with payments outstanding.

Can I use another payment processor instead of Stripe?Voluntary Contribution and Fixed Fee Campaigns Voluntary Contribution and Fixed Fee campaigns' payments are all required to go via Stripe. Connecting or Setting up Stripe An existing Stripe account can be connected or a new one can be set up from within the campaign's dashboard. Setting up a Stripe account can be a fast process. It's not necessary to a business or a charity. Individual/Sole Trader is the default option when setting up a Stripe account.

How long does it take to receive my campaign funds from Stripe?The frequency of payouts to the bank account associated with your Stripe account is determined in Stripe and can be adjusted in Stripe's dashboard. What is the application fee listed on payments in my Stripe account?On Stripe's Dashboard any charges by GalaBid are listed as an Application Fee. The application fee total will include the price for No Risk/ prizes on consignment sold and any voluntary contribution the participant has made to GalaBid. If the campaign is set to Fixed Percentage fee pricing the Application fee will include the 4.9% charged by GalaBid for use of the software any the price of any consignment/no risk prizes sold.

How can I test that payments are coming through to my Stripe account?1) Create a donation item, register to the campaign, make a donation see the payment in the Checkout Console and login to Stripe to see it in the Stripe dashboard. 2) In the Bids and Buys section in the side menu search the transaction and click to refund it. 3) Hide or delete the donation item after the test if not required.

Why are the payment amounts showing in Stripe different to GalaBid?Download the Invoices Report in the Reports Section in the left hand menu. This report gives a comprehensive summary of all financial information available for your campaign. See the line items that make up each total on the participant's invoice and the sub total for each one. In the example below the invoice total for Anne Jones is $75 See the total amount paid. This includes any voluntary contribution amount paid to GalaBid (Voluntary Contribution campaigns only).

How do a refund a voluntary contribution made in error?To refund a voluntary contribution, the payment, including the voluntary contribution, needs to be refunded in GalaBid. 1) Go to Checkout Console > PAYMENTS. Search the name of the participant. Once the payment is located click Refund Payment. Note that the refund is processed by Stripe and can take approximately 10 days to reach the participant's bank account. Note also that the transaction fees charged by Stripe on the original payment are non-refundable.

Do campaign participants also need Stripe?Participants on your campaign do not need a Stripe account to pay. Participants simply enter a credit card or debit card to process payment. They can also pay using Apple or Google Pay. Stripe is the payment processor, connected to the campaign. It facilitates secure payment processing. Only the campaign administrator needs to connect a Stripe account to the campaign or set up and connect a Stripe account to the campaign.

Declined PaymentsIf you are experiencing payments being declined in your Stripe account there can be a variety of reasons for this such as: Incorrect information from the participant e.g. zip code misentered. Blocked payment from the participant's bank account. Insifishant funds in the account. We recommend your log into your Stripe account and access your dashboard here - https://dashboard.stripe.com/login You can then view the payments that are being made and if they are declined Stripe will tag the payment with a reason for the decline.
